Shinji Wakasa (若狭真司)
若狭真司 Shinji Wakasa
東京とベルリンを拠点に活動するアーティスト。音楽の物質性・生と死の存在論的な境界を主題とした音楽作品を手がける。インスタレーションは常にサイトスペシフィックであり、有機的素材を用いた、層状に構成された空間的音楽を、マルチチャンネル音響を駆使して構築し、儀式的な音響体験へと聴衆を誘う。近年の主な公演・展覧会に、「PRESEN TATION -VOL.0」金沢21世紀美術館（石川, 2025）、「Resonance of a Drop」Migas（ベルリン, 2025）、「夜明けの音」Sony Park（東京, 2024）。
An artist based in Tokyo and Berlin. His work explores the materiality of music and the ontological boundaries between life and death. His installations are always site-specific, constructed through multi-channel sound and organic materials layered into spatial compositions that invite audiences into ritualistic sonic experiences.
Recent major performances and exhibitions include PRESENTATION – VOL.0 at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa (Ishikawa, 2025), Resonance of a Drop at Migas (Berlin, 2025), and Dawn’s Sound at Sony Park (Tokyo, 2024).
Wakasa has released his works through numerous international labels, including Rottenman Editions Label (Spain), Archives (Spain), Inner Ocean Records (Canada), and Fluid Audio label (UK).
